I am a West Nyack, NY artist who specializes in the hand creation of functional and unique ceramics and other items for the home, garden and body.  I combined my degree in Home Furnishings Marketing from F.I.T. with my trained (and self-taught) knowledge of ceramics from the Chelsea Ceramic Guild (NYC) and in 1997 created D'ALMA  (meaning "from the soul" in Portuguese). 

There are many influences that appeal to my sense of design, but I am most especially influenced by nature and my Portuguese heritage.  Actual elements from nature will often appear in my work in order to create imprints and textures which result in pieces that are beautifully organic.  I am interested in the natural patina that comes from age and nature, and enjoy paying homage to a vintage idea or image from my Portuguese heritage and reinventing it for our time.

The photography that I've chosen to shown has been an ongoing passion of mine, one that continually inspires me. The focus is on many of my interests - from travel to nature and beyond.

All handmade items are shipped and insured from New York within the continental U.S.A. via USPS Ground. Shipping costs are preset based on the total amount. Once your order has shipped, a tracking number via PAYPAL email will be provided to you.
